Learning starts with family. My mother was a nurse, and my father was an electrical engineering professor at UCONN. Parental involvement at every level is important.

Education is an investment and, as parents and a community, we paid that price to educate our children. And, the investment is a big one. I supported full day kindergarten despite its cost because of the opportunity to give a solid foundation and an early start to learning. So, how do we balance those needs with fiscal responsibility? The Town should make greater use of applicable grants. When capital projects are needed, bonding should be used in a responsible way that lowers the present tax burden without sacrificing the town’s future finances. Wallingford taxpayers depend on our elected officials to make those important decisions and explore all economically feasible opportunities.
